Celebrating 20 years

For the 20th anniversary of digital design agency Born05, we made a teaser and a trailer. I helped develop the concept, created the visual style, and designed and animated the motion graphics and visual effects.

The video shows the number ‘20’ being built by hand from materials linked to past Born05 projects. Each piece reflects a part of the agency’s story. The full image is only revealed at the end, looking back and hinting at what’s next.

Design process

The VFX were designed to make the footage feel like scanned archive material. I used Python to generate depth maps. In After Effects, I adjusted colors and added analog effects. To integrate the shapes from the key visual, I applied blob tracking using TouchDesigner. Adding movement by making the video jump forward on beat was also done in TouchDesigner.
